Understand your emotions to better navigate your life
 

Emotions. Such a powerful word, that I think a lot of people fear. In this day and age, you are actually seeing more and more people talk about emotions.

In all honesty, I was never taught how to process my emotions. They were something that you stuffed down until it got really bad and then the anger or frustration would boil to the surface in the way of tears.

Much has changed. Since having children, I was able to understand that emotions are a part of life. They are what make us all human. In fact, emotions can be used to help us navigate our life.

You are going to ebb and flow in your day. Some day are good, other times are bad. It is how you respond to those emotions that will empower you.

How many times do you react with your emotions? How does that feel? Not so good, I’m sure.

You are an energetic being. You are energy in physical form. This means that you are influenced and impacted by energy. Everything around you is energy; people, objects, experiences, the moon, stars, etc.

When you can understand how you ebb and flow within your life, you can then start to dissect what may be impacting you in a negative way and positive way.

This type of understanding will help you to identify what energy tools you can also use to support you in times of feeling very good and even when you don’t feel at your best.

Your emotions are to be experienced, felt and released in a healthy way.

Higher energetic emotions are when you feel: happy, joyful, love, cheerful, etc.

Lower energetic emotions are when you feel angry, fearful, frustrated, etc. These lower emotions can pull you down and drain you. They don’t feel good but they need to be experienced.

So many times, I hear people who say, “Oh I need to be positive about everything.” And I say, “No. No. No.”

That is the wrong way to live. Emotions allow you to fully experience life. You can’t be happy or positive all the time. You will turn into some type of robot. That is no who you are.

There are things in life that will let you down. There are things in life that will make you mad. It’s OK. Because it helps you determine where to put your energy. What to give your time to. How to truly live.

More and more, it seems as if people are all on personal timers of explosions. You never know where someone is on their timer because you aren’t them and you don’t follow them around everyday.

One day, you may interact with them and what you have said, even thought it has nothing to do with the whole experiences they are having, has had enough. This sets off an energetic response that bring put them into total lower level energies. And to top it all off, they take it out on you.

This is mostly because they don’t know how to work with emotions in a healthy way. They are reacting to their experience. Most of the time, these people regret this type of experience afterwards. t

Wouldn’t it be nice to embrace your emotions and understand what may trigger these responses so that you can choose to work with this type of energy in a healthy way?

Like I said, earlier, growing up, I never knew how to deal with my emotions in a healthy way. I’m sure there are a lot of others who feel the same way. This work is important because if we don’t understand our emotions and how to work with them, we create a lot of trauma with our bodies.

Trauma impacts our nervous system and causes us to go into flight/flight or freeze mode. Which can impact our lives in unhealthy ways. Keeping us from reaching for our dreams. Keeping us stuck in a box, not growing and challenging ourselves as Humans and more.

The first step is to understand your emotions, how you ebb and flow and then you can learn some energy healing tools and processes that can support your feelings and emotions. Allowing you to feel empowered and not feel like you are fighting for your life.

  • Take time to notice how you feel on a daily basis and keep track of them.

  • Write them in your journal and then note how you ebb and flow.

  • Journaling is a wonderful tool to help you uncover cycle and patterns. This will help you get clear on what may be causing certain lower emotions that keep you stuck and determine what you want to do to help you energetically in those areas.

Remember, you always have choice. Will you react to your tides or respond to them?
