introduction to holistic healing

Holistic healing is about taking care of the WHOLE you.

Holistic meaning the whole of you: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Healing simply means to make healthy. We live in time where many people want quick fixes to their problems and challenges. What used to work for us years ago, is not working for us any more. This is because we are more than just a physical body. We are also energetic.

What we have done in the past it put bandaids on our problems. But we never looked at what maybe happening at a spiritual, mental and emotional level to help heal and move forward with our challenges.

What is Holistic Healing?

It is more than just your health. It is about creating and making choices to feel healthy and fulfilled from a stand point that you are looking at the whole of you. It is also about being conscious. Choosing to be aware and present in all you do, especially in how you treat your body, mind, emotions and soul.

There are four main aspects that make up a holistic healing.

When you can begin to understand these aspects and how they are currently relating to you, you can begin to understand how to get yourself back to a place of feeling healthy, confident, energized and balanced.

I created a free workbook to help you navigate this post.  You can download it and use it not only now, but anytime you may be feeling off centered or out of balance.

The Four Aspects To Holistic Healing

1.  PHYSICAL:

physical.png

Taking care of your physical body.  There are so many topics within this aspect that I tried to narrow down the basic ones so you can set a good foundation for yourself.

These are the questions you should be asking yourself:

  • How are you taking care of your physical body?

  • What does your nutrition look like?

  • Are you eating foods that fuel you?

  • Are you drinking enough water?

  • Do you add movement in your daily plan?

  • Are you getting enough sleep or rest?

  • Are you listening to what your body is telling you?

Your physical vessel is all that you have in this lifetime. It essentially needs to be a priority for you.  Giving it extra care and support so it will help you operate at optimal levels.

When you are not taking care of your body, you notice it.  You may feel sick and sometimes dis-ease occurs.  It takes time for dis-ease to occur, it doesn’t just happen overnight.  There has been an imbalance within yourself for a while now.  It is when dis-ease shows up that we finally are willing to look at it.  It is a time for change.

You will find that dis-ease is most likely related to one of the other aspects in this post; example emotions, lack of spiritual connection, a belief system that doesn’t serve your highest good.

So being able to really look at all these areas I am going to share with you and determine where you need a little bit more attention will greatly help.

Healthy Nutrition

Keeping your body in optimal health and fueling it with optimal levels of micronutrients and macronutrients you will be able to repair, heal and raise your energy vibration.  You want to nourish your body with foods that are as close to nature as possible.

Try to avoid these foods as much as possible.  They are highly processed and lack nutrients, sometimes they are made of chemicals:

  • Food with added sugar

  • Boxed food

  • White bread, white tortillas, white rice

  • Chemical sweeteners

  • Fried foods

You want to add in more fruits and vegetables, healthy fats and protiens.  Veggies are full of vitamins and nutrients that your body craves.  Fruits are great too. They have natural sugars but you don’t want to over do it with fruit. e

Healthy food tips:

  • Eat whole grains

  • Healthy protein sources – lean low fat meats, low fat dairy

  • Healthy fats – from avocados, olive oil, almonds, coconut oil, etc

  • Lots of veggies and fruits

Supplementation

We know from the CDC (Center of Disease Control) that if we don’t have adequate nutrition our bodies fall deficient which can lead to illness and or dis-ease.  In today’s world, we simply aren’t getting enough nutrients, let alone optimal level of nutrients that our bodies/cells need to function properly so that we can lead healthy lives, just from our food alone.

That is why it is important to add supplements to our diet.  When you supplement your body and cells with a high quality, multi-vitamin, you will be amazed at how you will feel.

Adding supplements to my diet was a life changer.  I went from coming home from work and laying on the couch all night to actually getting up and doing things.  I had more energy and wanted to take an active part in my life.

There are many supplements on the market.  It does matter what you put in your body, so do your research.  I have and I highly recommend the Life Long Vitality Pack (LLV) and/or Mito2Max.   LLV is full of essential nutrients, metabolism benefits, and powerful antioxidants designed to help promote energy, health, and lifelong vitality. Mito2Max is a herbal supplement that supports healthy cellular energy production*

Water

Water is a vital nutrient for you as your body is made up of 70% water.  A long time ago I learned that you should drink about half your body weight in ounces.

Sleep

When you get a good night’s sleep, your body is able to revitalize and renew.  Experts say it is essential to get about 7-9 hours of sleep as an adult.

Movement

Some people call this exercise or working out.  I like to call it movement because your generally just need to move your body.

What types of moment is ideal?  Anything you love to do.  Walking is my favorite.  It is easy, simple and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.  Just your time and energy.   15-20 minutes a day would be so beneficial to your heart, health and body!

2. MENTAL:

Taking care of your mind.

  • What do you think about?

  • What do you belief?

  • How do you function from your mental state on a daily basis?

Your mind is one of the most challenging aspects. It can propel you into greatness or it can hold you back and keep you in some of the the darkest of places.

The most important thing you can do is learning to be mindful of what you are telling yourself on a day to day basis.  Awareness is the first step to shifting your mindset.

Your mind is a projection of your vibration or energy and it creates and connects with energies of the same frequency. Saying things or believing things that are not holding you in a space you desire to be, will only keep you stuck.

You can re-program your mind.  It takes dedication and commitment to make changes, especially if you have been holding onto certain mindset patterns for a long time.

Learning to cultivate and shift your mindset to one of abundance, not necessary meaning money but abundance in all life and gratitude, you will begin to shift that energy vibration and create the flow that you desire to live from.

Healthy Foods

What you put in your body has a huge effect on your mind and how you function.  Make sure that you are eating healthy, nutritious food grown as close to nature as possible.  Refer back up to the Healthy Nutrition in the Physical Aspect portion.

Energy Healing Tools to Support a Healthy Mind:

Essential Oils – These magical bottles have the ability to help you shift your mindset.  Use them to work with your intention of a new belief, a new thought.  You can also use them to support you in releasing the thoughts and beliefs that you want to release.  Choose an essential oil that you resonate with.

Crystals – Citrine is a great crystal to work with to boost self-confidence in changing mindset.  It is like a ray of sunshine.  Smokey Quartz is another great crystal to help you feel grounded and shift your mind in a more positive direction. The best crystal to choose is one that you resonate with.

3. EMOTIONAL:

Taking care of your tides.  I relate your tides to your emotions and feelings.  I like to think of our tides as as our guidance system.

They are neither good nor bad but a way that we can identify what is going on inside even outside of us.  They can help us see a bigger picture of who we truly are.

More and more research is showing that are tides (emotions and feelings) are linked to our health.  When you stop to think about it, I am sure you can see it play out that way in your life too.

Emotions are our ability to experience life. It is our feeling level. Emotions are meant to be expressed and felt and are not mean to be pushed down into our physical vessel and not looked at.

This is a huge topic because for so long, many of us were taught to not expressed how we truly feel. Sometimes, it was programmed into us that we aren’t supposed to feel a certain way. Our emotions have been so manipulated in past years and even lifetimes that this aspect of our self may need a lot of attention.

Can you see how our emotions are intertwined with our mental aspect and even physical aspect?

Expressing how you feel is so important.  It is OK to feel angry and upset.

It is how you choose to respond with your emotions that takes real mastery.  Understanding why things make you feel a certain way is an opening up to who you are and where you may need additional healing and support.

You are not meant to suppress your feeling or emotions and always try to be “happy!”  Take time to really look at how you feel.

Doing some deep internal healing and forgiveness work can help you work with your emotional self to bring it back into balance.

  • Are you expressing your emotions or suppressing them?

  • What are your emotions really sharing with you?

Energy Healing Tools to Support Healthy Emotions:

Essential Oils – Essential oils have the ability to directly connected to the brain through our limbic system, which effects our emotions.  Giving us the opportunity to support us at an emotional state.  Also rewiring our experiences so we can be at ease with them.  Choose an essential oil that you resonate with.  Diffuse in the air or open the bottle and smell.

Crystals – Aquamarine is a beautiful crystal that activates compassion.  This stone is also known as the “crystal of the sea”.  It has the ability to soothe and cool our emotions.  Bringing our emotions  back to a balanced state.

4. SPIRITUAL:

Taking care of your soul. The energetic essence of who you truly are.

This is one aspect that many people don’t include when it comes to feeling healthy and whole. How are you connecting with your intuitive self and the Universe?

  • Do you trust in a connection of all around you?

  • Do you see that everything in life flow in a synchronistic manner?

  • Do you connect with your soul and guidance team on a regular basis, through meditation, automatic writing, oracle reading, etc.

You are more than your physical body and you are never alone.  You have a direct connection to Source, Spirit, God, the Universe (whatever that is for you).  That connection is found right within your heart center.  Your heart center is a direct link to the highest expressions of you.

Connecting with your Inner Source allows you to pull more of who you truly are into your everyday life.  To know that you are never alone and that you are fully supported in anything that you do.

This knowing is so important because we tend to feel lost and alone here and this will pull us off of our inner desire to truly take care of ourselves.

This aspect takes trust of self and opening up to a world that may be unseen to many but felt, heard or just have an inner knowing. You are never alone. You are a divine spark of Source and you work in flow of this connection with the Universe.

Energy Healing Tools to Support Your Soul:

Essential Oils – Lavender essential oil is a wonderful oil that supports calmness and relaxation.  Allowing you to open up to your Highest Self.

Crystals – Celestine is the crystal that I recommend to use.  This crystal allows for a deeper communication from within.

Creating a Holistic Lifestyle is about taking balancing these aspects into your daily life: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.  There are integral parts to each aspect.  To start working with this concept,  Look at each aspect of creating a holistic lifestyle and determine where you may need to put more focus.  Each aspect is intertwined but if you can balance all four: physical, mental, emotional + spiritual you will be taking care of the WHOLE you.
